Participants 16 years of age and older can be in a watercraft by themselves and explore the river unaccompanied, but must have a parent or guardian sign their liability release/waiver form. Paddleboard participants must start and finish on knees while within 20 feet from the dock/launch area. Dogs are allowed to go out on watercraft. We do not provide life preservers for them. Dogs must remain under the owners control at all times. Traffic patterns: stay to the right side, just like automobile traffic. If the weather presents unsafe conditions, we will halt rentals until it is safe again. No boats may launch if there is lightning, thunder, or if fog is too dense to clearly see the opposite shore. Head towards shore if caught in a storm. On windy days, paddle into the wind heading out and with the wind to return. If having difficulty, paddle closer to the shore as trees help block the wind. If on a paddleboard, lie on stomach or knees and paddle to safety. Fishing is permitted on local NE lakes provided that all NE game & parks regulations are followed. All participants should respect the wildlife and public/state property. Please help protect our lakes and bring all trash back to shore and dispose of in trash receptacles. NO GLASS allowed. LNK Paddle Company reserves the right to refuse service to anyone believed to be under the influence of a substance. NO ALCOHOL on launch area or boats. If equipment is damaged beyond simple repairs customer will be asked to pay repair fee.

Kids life jackets provided?Kids under the age of 18 cannot paddle alone without someone over 18 in the group. Kids age 8 and older can paddle their own kayak or paddleboard if accompanied by a parent or guardian in another kayak or on another paddleboard. Kids under the age of 8 can ride in a double kayak only if accompanied by an adult; there is no age limit, and it is up to the parent’s/guardian’s discretion. We have a limited amount of kids’ life jackets that fit most kids starting as young as age 2. (You’re also welcome to bring your own life jacket for your little ones!) All paddlers sign a liability waiver, including the parent/guardian for each child.
-
What should I bring and wear?We recommend wearing clothing that you are comfortable moving around in and possibly getting wet. Also- sunscreen, hat, polarized sunglasses, a towel, and dry clothes (leave in your car).

Can I bring My Dog?You’re welcome to bring your furry friends to paddle but please note that if a blue algae warning is posted dogs will not be allowed. You know your dog’s temperament best, so please consider your dog’s comfort level with being on the water and staying seated – some dogs are more likely to “ruff up the boat” than others!
